I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Physics with a focus in Astronomy from Beloit College in Wisconsin. Recently, I spent a year tutoring high school students in algebra and geometry. This recent experience provided me opportunities to work with a variety of students and helped me to learn how to adjust my teaching to different levels of knowledge, interest, commitment, and a wide range of learning styles. Outside of teaching, you might find me enjoying the outdoors or reading.Difficult subjects, like math, can be intimidating for students, which can cause them to give up before they've even begun to apply themselves. I work to help students move past this kind of block to focus on learning and making these subjects less intimidating. I endeavor to meet students where they are and help them move forward from there, rather than putting pressure on them to catch up. I tutor students in pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, and physics.
