I graduated from St. John's University, and received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Hispanic Studies. I minored in Creative Writing. My Spanish developed as a result of having studied abroad for a semester in Vina del Mar, Chile. In Chile, I took classes in Art and Linguistics. I learned a lot about the country's culture. My Spanish classes were a challenge, but they were not as tough as the daily living of my host family. As a result of my stay in Chile, I learned to speak fluent Spanish. I could also read and write with confidence.My favorite subjects to tutor are Spanish 1 and 2. I think of these as building blocks for anyone wanting to study higher levels of the language. I would like for my students to regard Spanish as a skill that can be used for life. I also want my students to regard Spanish as being something more than merely academic. This way, they are likely to be more motivated to do well. I tutor Reading, Essay Editing, Phonics, Grammar and Mechanics, Spanish 1-4, and English. When not tutoring, I enjoy playing guitar, singing, sports, cycling, watching movies, reading, meditating, and the outdoors.
