I am originally from St. Paul, Minnesota. I graduated from the University of Colorado in Denver with a Bachelor of Arts in English. I also possess a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from California State University in Fresno. For close to four years, I have been teaching college, as well as tutoring at the College of the Sequoias Writing Center.For two years while in Fresno, I helped incarcerated young people in Fresno's Juvenile Justice Center with writing activities. It is my firm opinion that all students have the ability to write and read, if they are willing to put in some hard work and practice. Tutoring English is my specialty. Specific areas I am willing to tutor include reading, writing, ESL/ELL, phonics, literature, mechanics and grammar, and public speaking. I'm also available to help students prepare for writing college admission essays and the writing portions of standardized exams like the LSAT essay section and IB Extended Essay.In my spare time, I enjoy writing and watching films. I'm also a drummer in a couple of metal bands, and I have a fixie that I love riding around my town.
