Experience

I earned my B.S. in Microbiology with an English minor from the University of Minnesota. Afterwards, I got my master's in Medical Physiology from Loyola University Chicago. As a child, I was constantly doing crossword puzzles, videogames, mystery books, and riddles. After an incalculable amount of puzzle-solving, I discovered that teaching can be approached the same way as a puzzle: evaluate, strategize, solve, and verify. I have been involved with peer tutoring in math, science, and teaching immigrant students to speak English. It is my firm belief that the art of teaching needs to remain flexible and that each student needs their tutor to tailor their approach to suit their individual needs. It is important to try different methods to find a solution to a problem. I provide tutoring services for a variety of subjects including biology, math, chemistry, English, and SAT prep. Although I love tutoring all subjects, my passion is teaching literature and AP and IB sciences. In my free time, I play tennis, swim, play music, and enjoy meeting new people.
